ABOUT DUNJA
I believe healing happens through connection, curiosity, and understanding the ways our minds and nervous systems have adapted to help us survive. In my work, I support individuals and relationships navigating trauma, anxiety, emotional overwhelm, self-worth, identity, and relational challenges. Together, we explore the patterns that keep you feeling stuck while creating space for deeper healing, greater self-understanding, and more connected ways of relating to yourself and others.
My approach is grounded in the belief that healing is not only cognitive. Insight matters, but many experiences, especially trauma, shame, attachment wounds, chronic stress, and painful relational experiences, live much deeper in the nervous system. Together, we work not only to understand what is happening, but to create space for your mind and body to process experiences in a way that feels safe, supported, and meaningful.
I integrate Brainspotting into my work because sometimes talking about something is not enough. Brainspotting is a focused brain-body approach that uses eye position to help access emotions, memories, and nervous system activation that can feel difficult to reach through words alone. Rather than pushing you to explain, analyze, or relive painful experiences, Brainspotting allows us to slow down, notice what is emerging, and process at the pace your nervous system is ready for.
I am especially drawn to working with people who feel emotionally stuck, disconnected from themselves, or exhausted from carrying the same patterns for years. I work with many 2SLGBTQIA+ and neurodivergent clients, as well as individuals navigating trauma, anxiety, burnout, perfectionism, identity exploration, relationship difficulties, and experiences of disconnection from self.
I also work with couples and people in non-traditional relationships, supporting you in understanding patterns of conflict, attachment, communication, emotional safety, and connection.
MY APPROACH
My work is relational, collaborative, and grounded in curiosity and compassion. I draw from Brainspotting, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Gottman Method Couples Therapy, psychodynamic therapy, and other approaches tailored to your unique needs.
I hold a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University and a Master of Arts in Sociology from the University of Waterloo, and I am trained in Brainspotting Phases 1 and 2.
